Li Xiaolin, painter (with special interest in traditional Chinese landscape painting), long time member of the Chinese Artists Association.
Born in 1945, entered a military academy in 1964. In 1985, to pursue her life long love of painting, she left the military and joined the Institute of Chinese Painting (now China National Institute of Art) as director of the general office. This bold move gained her the tremendous opportunity, as a painter, to be guided by master painters such as Li Keran, Wu Zuoren, and He Haixia. In 1989, she was appointed to be Director of Public Relations at the newly established Wu Zuoren International Foundation of Fine Arts. She participated in the Foundation's first council meeting, as well as its many programs and activities later on.
In her early years, she admired Huang Binhong and Chen Zizhuang. She studied intensely of their techniques while finding her own expressions. Her painting can be bold and vigorous, or refined and serene; no matter the style, it always reflects her heart.
She has participated in exhibitions both in China and overseas. Her work has appeared in China's major publications including People's Daily, Fine Arts, and Chinese Calligraphy and Painting.
